Astrological trends in 2026

This year, all the major planets move to new zodiac signs. They leave zones of contemplation, emotion, and productivity (water, earth). And take up residence in bold, exciting, heightened states of being (fire, air). Life will get faster. Be less predictable. And potentially more aggressive. The image above says it all. A cloud of stars comes out of your head like the magical opening of a Disney movie!

Aries planets: Saturn and Neptune

From late January, there could be greater awareness of the aggressor, warrior, independent adventurer within (Neptune enters Aries). You may journey to places not yet seen; mentally, spiritually, emotionally, physically. The urge to start something new may be stronger and harder to resist. If your autonomy is threatened or boredom sets in, you might quit that job or leave that relationship. Abruptly. Anger and frustration may demand attention. Insight meditation, or physical exercise like walking, swimming, running could help you manage impatient thoughts. Don’t rush it though – this transit lasts until 2039.

Mid February could herald a new approach to discipline and responsibility (Saturn enters Aries). You might take on bigger and bolder projects that attract greater honours and accolades. There might be a desire to stride ahead and discover what lies over the horizon. Setting new boundaries in relationships could make life easier. But the possibility of conflict, debate, argument or dispute will not be an inhibitor to change. This could be a good time for assertion rather than aggression when seeking desired outcomes.

Air Planets: Uranus and Pluto

We all tasted the effect of these transpersonal planets moving into Air signs in 2025. A weird world unfolded. Politics, science, and international affairs warped out (Pluto in Aquarius). America became authoritarian again. Artificial Intelligence stole creativity. Antisemitic hatred manifested as murder.

From late April, these trends could be averted through like-minded people gathering in tribes (Uranus enters Gemini). Community might be a source for humanitarian action, especially when we communicate effectively. The rising tide of smart phones, robots, and social anxiety could begin to ebb and might even recede when these trends are replaced with human to human connection. Try it today!

Water to Fire: Jupiter

On 30 June, exactly half way through 2026, our capacity for growth and expansion depends entirely on how much fun we are having (Jupiter enters Leo). The fire of life could be ignited around children and creative projects, such as drama and theatre. This energy inspires actions that fit with other planets in Fire. The first part of the year will focus on emotional belonging as a source of development (Jupiter in Cancer). There could be a sense of relief particularly for those born in Fire and Air signs when this shift occurs and lasts until July 2027.

Fire to Earth: Chiron

Also in late June, our way of working with old wounds from being marginalised could shift from fighting against ourself to taking on practical healing techniques (Chiron enters Taurus). This substantial shift in the universe will continue to impact until 2033. People born under Earth signs could experience a break-through in dealing with issues of exclusion or rejection. As holder of body memory, the wounded healer in an Earth sign is a potent indicator for somatic therapies. Learning breathwork could be a good way to start your healing journey. Tessa offers grief counselling sessions that incorporate trauma-informed methods based on the breath.

Inward periods for reflection and review: Mercury and Venus retrograde

It is always sensible to take advantage of three periods for review and evaluation offered each year (Mercury retrograde). In 2026, these fortnights provide an opportunity to pause and reflect on whether your plans have progressed the way you wanted. You might use this time to examine whether there is scope for innovation or adjustment before starting the next cycle of activity.

  • From 26 February until 21 March.
  • From 30 June until 24 July.
  • From 24 October until 14 November

Also, from 3 October until 14 November, there might be a lull in activity within your relationships (Venus retrograde) . This could allow you to turn inward and take some time to think about what is actually happening within significant relationships in your life. Here are some of the questions that you could ponder:

  • Are there are ways to improve the quality of communication?
  • Does the relationship give freedom for each person to achieve their highest potential?
  • Is there scope for more fun and better relaxation?

For relationships to work, there needs to be a shared understanding and respect for each other. Consider booking a relationship reading with Tessa to understand and improve your relationship with others.

This looks like being a very special year. May it bring peace, compassion, and harmony to the world.

Blessings for the year ahead in your life. Please reach out for guidance if needed.

Kindly, Tessa x
